I just purchased this watch from www.chronograph.com. I don't know why I waited so long to get one of these because I really like Citizen dive watches, and like most of you I have really come to love automatic watches.

The NY0040 came with the standard black rubber band. I'm still trying to source the Citizen metal band for this watch, but no luck yet. The movement allows hand winding via the crown but it does not hack. I have several Seiko Auto and Quartz Diver's watches but my main complaint about them is their case thickness, which makes them a little combersome and top heavy. This Citizen is thinner and is much more comfortable on the wrist. The crown on the left keeps it from digging into the top of my left hand--but I keep putting the watch on upside down when I'm not paying attention so it will take some getting used to.

I'm a big fan of white-on-black date disks so that's a bonus and the dial itself looks great. The bezel's movement is not as silky smooth as the Seiko 007's (the smoothest bezel ever made) but it is tight and is aligned to the dial markers.

I realize accuracy out of the box isn't really an indicator of a movement's quality, but this one is running about +2 seconds a day, a nice difference from the typical +15 for the Seiko 7S26A (new, non-regulated).

Chronograph.com lists the lug width at 19mm but I measured it with digital calipers and it's exactly 20mm. I fit a 20mm Seiko titanium dive band (has D1V3-B-C stamped on the end links) to it by grinding the end links to fit (width was ok at 20mm but the end links were too long). I can live with it on this band but I'd prefer the correct Citizen band.

Here's the band (corrected):

Overall this is a killer watch and all automatic dive watch fans should have one.
