widely, but IMHO these look like something Invicta would design.

There seems a trend towards the garish and unfunctional, both in Citizen and Seiko. Clean lines and purpose seem to have fallen out of the process.

This is the third time I've seen citizen make funny lugs that limit your strap/bracelet options. Like with the zillas IMHO this is a major flaw in an otherwise handsome (if busy) design.

I like 'em and bet those look spectacular in flesh.
Three lugs wouldn't matter to me.

Too many textures for me. No unity of design. The copper-colored one kinda looks like Jules Verne Victorian, but is just too busy to really even capture that look.

A true Jules Verne watch would have white and black and brass and an inlaid look, I imagine.

a Campanola in your hand you can't truly understand what Citizen puts into these Watches. They are totally hand made. You may not like the designs, but get a loupe out and take a hard look at the Casework, Hands and Dial. I've owned almost everything, and nothing compares to the quality and detail of the Campanola line at any price.

The Limited Edititons of the past few years sold out quickly, and many had hand applied Japanese Lacquer
(Aizu) Dials. The Sapphire Crystals are huge, curved and bevelled with some of the largest ever to be used on a Wristwatch. As far as the price is concerned I think they are an absolute steal for the quality and features they offer. This year at Basel they introduced a Grand Complication (Minute Repeating, Perpetual Calendar, Moonphase Chronograph) in Tonneau Case on a beautiful steel bracelet. If this was even attempted in a mechanical Watch the price would be 200K +.

The movements in these Watches are totally hand assembled and decorated. This years model has Hand Chamfering and Geneva Waves. Citizen has a seperate faciltiy for the production of Campanola's where Watchmakers in Labcoats sit at benches and assemble them one at a time.

OK, by now you can tell I'm a fan. I started buying them when Citizen first introduced them, and I've been totally captivated and intrigued by the line's progression year after year.

Like I said, you may not like the designs, but if you get a chance to see one in person, take the time to really examine it. I promise it'll be like nothing you have ever seen before.
